Wow - Nicely done!

This camera is attached to a Windows Vista x64 system and it works flawlessly. I've read some reviews about problematic installs - not here. Its picture is really good (wider angle than most due to the native HD mode). The controls governing exposure, gain, color balance, adaptive lighting balance, etc. were not something I would have expected in a camera this cheap (and most folks, unfortunately, might overlook these controls, but they are wonderful). The camera sits facing a bright south-facing window (see image) and the subjects are in focus, color balanced and amazingly clear, despite the saturation from a bright window. A couple of the "features" were a little goofy, but hey - to each his own. I've got the camera mounted upside down for better eye-on-axis line of sight (the camera s/w permits mirror images (useful in a car backup camera, but what else, I dunno) and 180 degree image flip - in case, like me, you want to mount it upside down).
There's only one thing I'm not sold on yet: the flex base. I guess in the end it's useful but it's bigger and clunkier than I would have wished - but then again, if it didn't have a flex base, I wouldn't have been able to "hang" it upside down from the shelf above my monitor. Another thing - although mine is a very high end system there's still a little ghosting and delay when subjects move around. Gets a little better at lo-res but nut as much as I would have expected.
Overall, though, the software and camera controls are great, the images are really great and the value for the money was beyond great. I think a novice could install and operate this without much/any help.
I'm headed back down to the retailer where I purchased it (cheaper than on-line!) and buying 3 more for family members. Don't doubt folks had problems, but I cannot imagine why. This was a snap (install went by-the-book). This is a keeper and something I'm buying for family and friends.

I received this webcam as a gift, and it has suited all my needs splendidly. I was particularly surprised at the video feed quality while using it; the clear and colorful image is amazing. I especially like the fact that it is UVC compliant, which means I can connect it to my family's computer for instant messaging without installing the software over and over again. Great job Logitech!

I'm using this camera on an older Dell Inspiron (laptop) 300m. Setup was easy, fits fine. Works with Skype, sound is pretty good, but video quality is horrible. On this computer, It looks like a series of pictures. I've also used the camera on an up-to-date desktop, same video quality. For a first webcam, I guess it's ok, but video quality is not good at all.

Works in XP 64-bit

My first webcam, so I have nothing to compare it to. Picture quality seems good, the microphone works, and it sits securely atop my HP W1907 widescreen. Doesn't feel cheap.
I bought a Logitech because I wanted to be sure that the cam worked in 64-bit Windows XP. Logitech's website had different software downloads for 32 and 64 bit systems, so I downloaded the 64-bit package, then bought the webcam. Price was $50 at Best Buy. I never used the CD that came in the box.
BTW, the retail box says its XP/Vista/2000 compatible, but makes no mention of 32 or 64 bit.
Happy I bought it and would recommend the MP to a friend.
