- After all this time... Date: November 5, 2009

Owned this Product for: 0-3 Months
Level of Expertise: Expert

Pros: build quality, print quality, speed, value for money
Cons: installation, inaccurate instructions

You would think, with probably millions of installations of All-In-One products, that HP would get it right, make it straight forward. Nope...

Sure, this is a GREAT performing product. But, installation and configuration doesn't require a degree, it requires a bit of luck and technical magic. Sure, for some it must go great, but we had to re-install the software twice to get it to work with our computer.

Very good for the price Date: January 30, 2009

Pros: the price is very competitive., this is a great deal for home/home offices.
Cons: it has no manual feed tray - this kind of sucks., paper tray is somewhat small.

The printer is not much bigger than many ink-jet all-in-ones, but heavier. Be prepared to provide adequate space. It prints considerably decent color photos if just a little slow. Setup is a snap - but I recommend not using the supplied CD and getting the lates software version directly from HP's website.

Frustrated with an "ok" machine. Date: December 1, 2008
Written By: Waybo From: Southern NH (read all my reviews) (read all my reviews)

Pros: good quality print, accurate color.
Cons: slow, pages print in wrong order.

This machine is "OK."

This replaced my 8-year-old workhorse Xerox black laser printer. This cost almost as much to purchase as it would have cost to repair the old Laser. I needed a printer in a hurry, so purchased this. I would research other options before purchasing it again. I miss the speed of the old one. That one was also "solid." I don't expect this one (or most new ones) will last as long as that one did.

Set up was easy; had it running in no time.

It's in my basement, but I usually work upstairs. I tell it to print, go down to get the report, and page one hasn't printed yet. (and my computer is FAST!).

Then I have to resort the pages -- page 16 is first, page 1 is last. It SHOULD print in the "read" order -- maybe it does, but I can't find that option.

Other than the speed and page order, it's not a bad machine for the price.

HP CM1312nfi Date: November 5, 2008

Very easy to set up. I attached it via ethernet to a wireless router (apple time capsule), loaded the software on both a Windows XP (ethernet connection) and a wireless Apple laptop and the printer worked flawlessly. It immediately accepted a TCP/IP address and both computers saw it right away.
Prints quietly, seems like good color so far.
