We average an emergency response document the size of the average MS thesis created at remote sites once per quarter. These documents have many signature pages. We travel lots and must submit travel vouchering documents by fax or pdf. We decided to give the plustek a try. The ability to scan pages and business cards, do OCR and create graphics and pdf files, run through the TWAIN interface made this generic and flexible. The software took some time to learn - there was an early scanning battle with Adobe Acrobat Pro that had to be worked out. On our last emergency plan, we were done and had all signatures except the national one done before we left the site. My travel docs were all scanned and only needed my reutrn time home to be completed. No more insecure hotel scanning for me, nice color scans for those important document moments. The OCR works well. We haven't done business card scanning yet. The feed can get crrooked if your not careful, or you may not feed the rollers right the first time. It's a nice tool for us.
