Use for Comcast Business Date: May 21, 2009

Owned this Product for: 3-12 Months
Level of Expertise: Good

Pros: compatibility, easy to setup
Cons: Frequent Resets

We have Comcast business class at two locations: 40 users and 60+ users. We rapidly found out that the comcast modem/firewall cannot handle the load: the Comcast modem needed to be rebooted multiple times a day. After a number of visits by comcast techs, we bought two of the Linksys routers/switches and it fixed the problem entirely at the 40 user site by placing the linksys between the comcast modem and the production network. The linksys still needed to be rebooted every few days at the 60 user site, but it was an improvement. We finally bought a cisco 1811 to fix that problem.

The Linksys BEFSR41 Router was easy to hookup and setup with included software instructions and drivers. It is not a wireless router but handles my needs as a local multiple computer internet gateway. I would recommend it highly for this purpose.
