Cons: Performance, Unreliable Connection

I purchased the switch to provide a way to plug four devices into a central place in order that they would all be served by the modem connecting the home network to the internet. I had an airport extreme, and iMac connected to a modem for the cable service including internet and then purchased an alarm system, requiring an extra ethernet port, not available on the modem. So, I got this switch. After plugging the airport, the iMac, the modem and the alarm system all into the switch, I lost all wireless access to the internet on our laptops. The laptops could "see" the airport and all settings showed the connection was active, but service was inaccessible-all web pages failed to open and no amount of monkeying around with all the devices, connections and settings solved the problem. Moreover, the ethernet connection to the alarm system had no effect: the company reported no signal. I do not see any reason why this switch should not have worked and was very disappointed.

Pros: great value

This is a great product. Just plug in the cables and the power supply and your done. There is no programming/configuring involved.

Pros: compact, easy to use
Cons: none

I have been working in IT for many years and these little switches are a must have. They are perfect for impromptu work area setups and expansions. If you need extra network outlets but don't have time to run a hard line back to your MDF/IDF then this is perfect. I keep 5 of these ready to go on a moments notice. It allows me to provide great service to management and project teams.
